City's youngsters will face Doncaster Rovers at home in Round 2 after winning Northern Group A by sealing positive results against Scunthorpe United, Grimsby Town and Sunderland.

Dewsbury-Hall, the Club's 2018/19 Development Squad Player of the Season, started off his Leasing.com Trophy campaign with a close-range finish at Scunthorpe in September.

The Foxes drew that fixture at Glanford Park 1-1 in normal time, but emerged from a penalty shootout as 3-1 victors, securing an extra bonus point.

While City's 2-1 win at Grimsby Town was sealed by an excellent brace from Josh Eppiah at Blundell Park, Dewsbury-Hall would go on to score the winner at Sunderland.

Chris Maguire gave the Black Cats the lead early on at Stadium of Light, but after a George Hirst penalty, Dewsbury-Hall rattled home a fearsome drive to seal safe passage for Leicester.

As a result, the 21-year-old is one of five nominees - and the only player from an Under-21s squad to be selected - for the Leasing.com Trophy Player of the Round prize.

He's nominated alongside Tristian Abrahams (Newport County), Maxime Biamou (Coventry City), Jordan Clark (Accrington Stanley) and Jordan Roberts (Ipswich Town).

The closing date for entries is 9am GMT on Monday 18 November, 2019. To vote for Kiernan to receive the award, please click HERE!
