Back from injury after an 11-month absence, Justin is part of a group of full-backs including Luke Thomas, Timothy Castagne, Ricardo Pereira and Ryan Bertrand, while Marc Albrighton and Hamza Choudhury have also been deployed in wide defence when called upon this term.

He believes each player feeds off one another’s ability, contributing to a mix of defenders that have all of the ingredients to form a successful back line.

“All of us are so different in so many ways,” he told LCFC TV ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash with Manchester United.

“I remember when I first came and Ricky was playing week in, week out at a world-class level. I was just picking bits off him here and there as much as I could, and it’s the same with the other boys.

James Justin celebrates Timothy Castagne's stunner against Brentford during City's last outing.

“They’ve all got attributes and elements to their game that are much better than the rest of us, so we can all learn off each other and keep pushing each other to be the best full-backs that we can be.”

With such desire flowing through the squad, Justin feels that will enable him and his team-mates to thrive in a highly competitive environment.

“It means that you have to perform, whether it be on a training pitch or on the weekends and Thursday nights,” he said.

I think that if we keep on going the way we’re going towards the end of the season, the only way is up that we’re looking and hopefully we can keep nailing those three points.

“If you don’t perform on the pitch, you’re not going to play, it’s as simple as that. Hopefully, I can perform in a way that keeps me in the team.”

With exciting fixtures in the Premier League and UEFA Europa Conference League on the horizon, Justin is hoping the Foxes can add to their recent run of results.

He added: “I think that if we keep on going the way we’re going towards the end of the season, the only way is up that we’re looking and hopefully we can keep nailing those three points and get through in the Conference League. It’ll put us in good stead for next season, hopefully.”
