Timothy Castagne's header was added to by a magnificent long-range strike from Dewsbury-Hall against Brentford at King Power Stadium, although the Bees hit back through Ivan Toney and Josh Dasilva. City will ultimately be disappointed with a 2-2 draw, but Roberts saw plenty of positives.

"You tend to dwell on the second half, but if they can replicate what they did in that first half… it was a joy to watch," the Welshman said on LCFC TV's Matchday Live broadcast. "The passing, the movement, the intensity of their passing as well. It was superb.

"It’s just disappointing that they never kept that part of the game up. It’s a game of small margins. They hit the post a few times. How often do we say it... when a team’s leading 2-0, the next goal is so important."

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall vs. Brentford

A look at Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's brilliant strike against Brentford on the opening day of the new season.

On Dewsbury-Hall's 46th-minute effort, a first-time hit from outside the box, Roberts added: "He signed his new contract, which he thoroughly deserved, and it was an outstanding strike. It’s a poor header from Ben Mee, but then good awareness from Jamie Vardy to help the ball on.

"From 25 yards, on his left foot, it’s a great strike. The ‘keeper’s got no chance. He’s picked up from where he left off at the end of last season."

Arsenal at Emirates Stadium are next up for City, who tackle the Gunners on Saturday (3pm BST kick-off). Roberts says Leicester will be under no illusions about the scale of that challenge, but believes they have a chance in north London.

The lads will get this out of their system, that disappointment, but they’ve got to go again in a tough place to go.

"That will be a tough away game," the ex-City man explained. "If you look at the first four away games… Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal, the first ones, are all in there. They got off to a really good start on Friday night with a convincing 2-0 win at Selhurst Park.

"[Mikel] Arteta’s strengthened the squad, I like what he’s brought in, so it’ll be a tough game. That’s the element of disappointment [from Brentford]. The lads will get this out of their system, that disappointment, but they’ve got to go again in a tough place to go.

"Leicester have been there before and come away with positive results."

Iwan Roberts was speaking during the post-match analysis on Matchday Live – a four-hour broadcast on LCFC TV every Leicester City matchday.
