Leicester City in the Community Win Prestigious Charitable Award

- Leicester City in the Community have received a Platinum Jubilee Community & Business Award
- They were one of 70 winners, marking Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s 70-year reign
- The award was presented by Lt Colonel David Young TD DL 

A list of 70 schools, businesses, voluntary and community groups across Leicester and Leicestershire have picked up Platinum Jubilee awards for their outstanding efforts to improve their local communities.

The award celebrates Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, who sadly passed away in September of this year after a 70-year reign. It recognises the achievements of organisations which have done something exceptional and positive for their communities.

Upon being presented with the award, the Club's charitable arm, Leicester City in the Community, were commended for their variety of work across Leicester’s diverse population. The award was awarded by Lt Colonel David Young TD DL at a Leicester City in the Community staff meeting earlier this year.

Lord-Lieutenant of Leicestershire, Michael Kapur OBE, said: “I would like to congratulate all the award winners and nominees. In recent times, we have experienced unprecedented and extraordinarily difficult times and yet throughout, it has been wonderful to see schools, businesses, volunteer and community groups across the city and county have remained unwavering in their commitment to making a big difference in their local communities.

“I'm delighted to shine a spotlight on the outstanding work that takes place and would like to thank everyone who took the time to make a nomination.”
