We Have To Stick Together, Says Sadler

Coach Adam Sadler has stressed the importance of Leicester City remaining united through adversity, but did not hide from a 'bitterly disappointing' 1-0 defeat by AFC Bournemouth on Saturday.

- Leicester City lost 1-0 to AFC Bournemouth at King Power Stadium on Saturday
- Coach Adam Sadler says the Foxes paid for a 'difficult first half'
- He says everyone must remain united at the Club ahead of a crucial run-in
- Harvey Barnes will be assessed after picking up a potential hamstring issue

Philip Billing's goal was the difference at King Power Stadium to leave City 19th in the Premier League with eight games to play. The Cherries were on top throughout and Sadler admits there's a 'lack of confidence' in the squad.

With that in mind, he says everyone at the Club must remain united for what promises to be a huge run of fixtures. Sadler is overseeing first team matters at Leicester City alongside coach Mike Stowell.

"We’re bitterly disappointed with the result obviously," he told LCFC TV. "It wasn’t the performance we were hoping for. It’s fair to say you can see there’s a lack of confidence in the group at this moment in time.

It's my job is just to continue to try and support these players and keep them united and keep them focused on the job at hand.

"It's my job is just to continue to try and support these players and keep them united and keep them focused on the job at hand. We’re in a fight. I think we have to acknowledge the fact that we’re in a fight.

"We have eight games left and we’ve got to stick together. We’ve got to be up for that challenge."

Sadler believes the timing of Bournemouth's goal, with five minutes of the first half, was a key factor in Leicester losing. It prevented the Foxes from being able to attack the second half as they wished, he says.

"It was a difficult first half," he explained. "We struggled to keep possession of the ball and build any type of momentum. Listen, I think if we’d got to half-time with the game level, then we were in a position to attack it.

I was happier with the response in the second half. I think we were much more on the front foot and tried to push to create chances.

"Unfortunately, in terms of going behind so close to half-time, it put us a little on the back foot. I was happier with the response in the second half. I think we were much more on the front foot and tried to push to create chances.

"It was hard to get through what was quite a resolute Bournemouth defence. It's now about refocusing the group, trying to remain united, and getting ready for next week’s training and next week’s game."

Harvey Barnes was withdrawn during the second half through injury and Sadler says he's awaiting more news.

"I haven’t spoken to the doctor as yet," he added. "I know it’s a hamstring issue, so until that’s been fully assessed, I won’t know at this stage."
