In a summer full of change, which has seen seven players join Willie Kirk’s ranks, Rose signed on the dotted line this week, making a permanent move from Reading.

Committing the next two years of her career to a club which she believes offers the perfect environment and opportunities to allow her to grow as an individual, brought great excitement to the striker, as she explained in her first interview as a Leicester player.

“I’m so excited to get started,” Rose stated. “The facilities are amazing; they have everything we need here - they’re top class. The manager showed his excitement on the upcoming season, and around the team, so I knew it was a good place to come.

“This league to me is the best in the world, and I’m thrilled to have an opportunity to play in the Barclays Women’s Super League again. For me, the Club’s ambition matches my own, it’s a historic club and obviously the team is growing, and I want to be part of it.

The forward joins the Club on a two-year contract.

“With a young team it brings fun and new and fresh energy. At the point of my career, it’s perfect to be somewhere where they’re laying the building blocks and for me it’s the best place for my development.”

A Canadian international who had the chance to represent her country at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Rose brings an abundance of skill, pace, and pedigree to East Midlands.

Although not making it past the group stages, the former Royals player was keen to share her thoughts on an industrious tournament for women’s football and outlines her attributes as a player.

“It was a good experience to be at the World Cup,” the 24-year-old continued. “The fans were amazing, and Australia did a great job of hosting - the atmosphere really was incredible.

“It’s always hard at the World Cup to focus with the media and the hype around it, but our team found a good balance and it was a great opportunity to be there.

“I haven’t had the chance to tour Leicester too much, so that’s pending but I’m happy to be here and get to know the culture, but the most important thing for me is to play football and help the team.

“As a striker, my game is just about getting on the scoreboard as much as possible, as well as assisting others, being direct and dangerous in matches.

“I would describe myself as energetic. I like to bring that energy to the team. I feel like I have explosive pace and I hope that can help the team create opportunities so that we can have a good season.”
