Leicester came from behind in Walsall to take the lead against the Villans during Saturday’s action in the Barclays Women’s Super League, before Rachel Daly's goal saw the points shared.

Following the full-time whistle, the Assistant Manager spoke about the point earned, the commitment from the team, but also the lessons that need to be learned.

“I said that before the game, I think it was always going to be a good battle between the two sides,” Foster stated. “They had their moments and we had ours.

“I actually think that we deserved the win with some of our chances at times, but I’m sure they’ll say the same thing, so overall a good contest.

Yuka Momiki and Sam Tierney found the net on Saturday afternoon.

“It showed great character from the team to come from a goal down and it’s nothing short of what we expect but it was disappointing to lose a goal and drop two points. We know you can’t leave [Rachel] Daly free in the box and sadly we have.”

Leicester took the lead not long into the second half through Sam Tierney, through one of many chances created at Poundland Bescot Stadium.

Although not enough to confirm the win, the Assistant Manager spoke about Japanese forward Yuka Momiki who was involved in both of the weekend’s goals, but believes there is an abundance of quality throughout the team.

She added: “At half-time, I said that we needed to be more aggressive on the press and one of our strengths is on the press, and we got that right and caused a lot more problems in the second half.

We’ll learn (from our mistakes) and be ready for that semi-final.

“Unfortunately, we didn’t turn that into goals to get all three points today.

“Yuka [Momiki] is great, and as I said the other day, she has great quality but so do the other players around her. Sam Tierney has got fantastic quality in the midfield as well.”

There is a pause in fixtures now for the Foxes, who return to action in two weeks’ time for an Adobe Women’s FA Cup Semi-Final against Tottenham Hotspur, as excitement for the tie builds.

“The players will go away and digest this now and some of them will join up with their countries on the international break and we’ll work with the ones that are staying,” Foster continued.

City now look towards an FA Cup Semi-Final against Tottenham Hotspur.

“Once everyone’s back, we’ll be able to look forward to it properly and we know it’s a big occasion for the players and the Club so hopefully we’ll get the success from it.

“We have to take the confidence and learn from those moments in the game where our concentration lapses, which caused the goals, but we’ll learn and be ready for that semi-final.”
