Ex-Leicester City Women Footballer To Run London Marathon

Former England women’s national team footballer Rachel Stowell will be taking on the gruelling London Marathon on Sunday 23 April in aid of the LCFC Foxes Foundation.

An ex-footballer for Bristol City Women, Southampton Saints, Fulham Ladies, Arsenal Ladies and Leeds Ladies and Leicester City Women, Rachel is aiming to complete the mammoth run to raise funds for the Club’s official charity.

Rachel, partner of First Team and Goalkeeping Coach Mike, qualified on her own time, but in a fantastic show of generosity, will also be raising donations for the Foxes Foundation, which supports a number of local charities from the county of Leicestershire.

The marathon has taken place in the capital since 1981 and is a total of 26.2 miles long – the equivalent of running approximately 122 laps around the full King Power Stadium pitch.
