After watching his side lose to a controversial late goal after the hands of Burnley in the Premier League on Tuesday night, Claudio Ranieri has challenged his side to react.

Substitute Sam Vokes fired into the net with just three minutes to go at Turf Moor to snatch a win for the home side, despite appeals from Leicester City players that the striker had controlled the ball with his arm.

The Foxes battled for the entire 90 minutes against a team with an outstanding home record but they just couldn’t find the breakthrough – Jamie Vardy going closest after Tom Heaton saved a Riyad Mahrez effort into his path.

The late goal will be a great source of frustration for the Foxes, who continued to show signs of improvement but the manager knows well the importance of staying united in the face of adversity.

“I am disappointed to lose so late,” said Ranieri. “It was very hard to lose with three minutes to go.

“In this moment it seems everything is against us. We have to react, stay together and fight. We have to react as soon as possible because we can lose or we can win. We gave it everything and, for the performance, I am glad but very disappointed with the result.

“We created chances, we tried to do our best and were very dangerous on the counter attack. Maybe we missed the last pass but that’s it."

There was good news for the Foxes however as the Club confirmed the from Spanish side Granada until the end of the season.

Ranieri added: “He is strong, very good in the air and fast in the long distance. He is a good player on loan for six months from Granada and he can give some rest to my centre-backs.

“I think [he is ready to play], let me see him on Friday and I will tell you.”
