City Saluted At Siam Store Launch

Leicester City fever continued to sweep around Bangkok on Saturday, as members of the first team squad got another incredible reception at Siam Sky Train Station.
Nigel Pearson, Danny Drinkwater, Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez and Leo Ulloa visited one of the Thai capital’s busiest transport hubs to open a brand new Leicester City store and were once again swarmed with fans and media on their arrival.

Vice Chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha was also on hand to complete the formalities – taking time out on his 29th birthday to proudly accompany his manager and players.

The level of interest in the team’s visit to Thailand has been impressive throughout the week, but as the countdown to Sunday’s friendly against Everton at Bangkok’s Supachalasai Stadium reaches its climax, the pre-match hype continues to gather pace.

“It’s been unbelievable really,” Drinkwater told lcfc.com. “Every time we’ve been out this week, people have been out in force. It doesn’t surprise me anymore, people obviously love football out here, but it’s great that they’ve come out to see us.

“There’s a lot of interest in Sunday and we’re all really looking forward to it. There’s been a lot of build-up so it will be nice to get on the pitch and put on a good performance.”

Sunday’s game at the national stadium will mark the 25th anniversary of City’s parent company, King Power International, and will be an interesting preview to the Foxes’ opening game of the Barclays Premier League season, with Everton due to visit King Power Stadium on Saturday 16 August.

The Club has teamed up with LIVESPORT to offer supporters the chance to watch the match LIVE online for just £3.99. Click for further details.
