Blue Army Giving Ulloa Confidence
The 28-year-old expertly met a pinpoint cross from Jeff Schlupp to power the ball past Wojciech Szczesny in the Arsenal goal, and won plenty of plaudits for his display in front of the Sky TV cameras.
And speaking to Foxes Player after the match, Ulloa revealed that the support of the fans is giving him that extra boost in the early stages of his City career. He said: “I enjoy playing here because it’s a good Club. It’s a family Club and the fans did really well against Arsenal.
“All the time they help us and they’re important because I’m more confident. The team, the fans and the Club are always together for us.
“We have two points now, but we must now think of the next game and getting the win.”
The former Almeria striker also scored against the Gunners on his debut for Brighton in the FA Cup last year, but after scoring again this time around, he paid tribute to the quality of the ball from Schlupp on the left wing.
He added: “I have chances against Arsenal. With Brighton I scored against them too, but it’s important for strikers to get chances.
“I like this goal [against Arsenal]. The finish was good but I think the cross was amazing. Jeff crosses really well and I like them because it’s a chip in towards the far post and the way I run, I attack the ball and it’s great for me.
“I said to him before the match that I like these kinds of crosses to the far post. It’s good for me because I attack the ball, and that’s what I tell the wingers.”
