Unbeatable Feeling For Drinkwater

Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater expressed his delight after overcoming his former side in dramatic fashion on Sunday afternoon.

The former Manchester United man, who came through the ranks at Old Trafford before moving to the Foxes in 2012, played a pivotal role in one of the most memorable City games of recent times.
The Foxes recovered from a two goal deficit twice to beat Louis Van Gaal’s side 5-3 at King Power Stadium with two goals from Leonardo Ulloa either side of strikes from David Nugent, Esteban Cambiasso and Jamie Vardy.
And City’s 2013/14 Player of the Year admitted the side’s understanding of each other helps a great deal when it comes to digging deep and grinding out results.
, he said: “It’s massive – I’m over the moon. It’s a great result for the club, not just me personally, but for everyone.
“It was what we expected – fast with quality in abundance.
“We just had to match them up and show them what we can do when we had the ball – I thought as the game went along we started to show that.
“It’s a part of our game – breaking them down and picking them off – but United have got the quality and to touch on the result again, it was a superb win.
“We’ve shown it plenty of times that we can do it – we’ve got plenty of spirit and drive in the team and it’s what makes us lads as tight as we are.
“It’s massive – it’s the first time I’ve ever played them and to beat them, there’s not much better feeling in football.”
He also hailed the impact of summer signing Cambiasso, who partnered Drinkwater at the heart midfield, and was impressed by the Argentine’s ease at settling into the side.
He continued: “He’s got quality, he’s a massive figure in our team and he’s a footballing legend.
"He speaks for himself, he scored a nice goal today and linked up quite well.
“He’s got plenty of experience so I’m sure he can help the boys. “We’ve got quality in our team and it’s just a matter of showing it when we can.
“The result went against us in the first half but we showed character to get back and get the three points.
“Credit to the lads, we stuck to them and kept it tight.”
