Members of the national broadcast media were on hand to film Leicester City’s first team squad ahead of the new 2016/17 Premier League campaign on Thursday.

Football fans around the world are eager to see the Foxes back in action defending their first-ever top flight title, with four of City’s opening six Premier League fixtures due to be broadcast live on TV.

In attendance on Thursday were BT Sport, who filmed players with the Premier League trophy, Sky Sports, who filmed players’ walk-ons in home and away kits, while Premier League Productions recorded audio and video footage.

City get their campaign underway in just over three weeks’ time, as they take on Hull City on Saturday 13 August, live on Sky Sports – a game Christian Fuchs says his team-mates are all looking forward to.

The left back said: “We’ve been doing the great walk of fame, which is shown ahead of every live game, and a lot of other filming.

“It’s insane. Last year, we only had a few people here, but now the gym is packed with camera equipment and teams, so it’s really good.

“Obviously we cannot wait to get going again. Right now, we’re in the middle of pre season and we’re looking forward to the rest of our games ahead of the season.”

Also in attendance was midfielder Danny Drinkwater, who hopes the footballing world will again look forward to watching his side’s exciting style of play live on TV this term.

Drinkwater said: “We’ve had a few different stations put up as the TV rights holders prepare for the season – it’s been a bit of fun for the lads all doing it together.

“It doesn’t surprise me [how busy it is], especially after last season. We had quite a lot of games televised last season and I can imagine that’ll increase this season – it’s more publicity for the Club, which is good.”
