Vardy Joins Up With Leicester City In Los Angeles

- Vardy took part in a session at the StubHub Center in Los Angeles 

- Danny Simpson and Daniel Amartey continue to Club’s work in the community by meeting young local footballers 

- Riyad Mahrez, Christian Fuchs and Demarai Gray take part in a Puma photoshoot on Santa Monica beach 

There was a familiar face at Leicester City training on Thursday as striker Jamie Vardy linked up with his team-mates for training in Los Angeles for the first time this pre-season. 

The England international’s arrival ensured that spirits remained high in the camp as they continued to ramp up preparations for the new season. 

Vardy’s 24 goals last term helped Leicester City secure the Premier League title and the 29-year-old looked to have lot none of his enthusiasm after getting straight down to business in his first session. 

Once again local and international media turned up to see the Premier League champions hard at work ahead of Saturday’s clash with Paris Saint-Germain at the StubHub Center – City’s second fixture of the 2016 International Champions Cup. 

As well as working hard, manager Claudio Ranieri also led the team in some fun to round off Thursday’s training session in the form of a penalty shootout. The losing side then had to stand on the goal line while the winners took turns to fire footballs at them. Riyad Mahrez in particular showed his deadly accuracy, much to the dismay of the unlucky losers on the goalie. 

Following the session, Claudio made the most of the excellent facilities at StubHub Center as he and his team of staff ran through tactical details with the squad to round off the session. 

Meanwhile the duo of Danny Simpson and Daniel Amartey headed down to meet youngsters from one of the LA Galaxy’s Talent ID camps to share some insight into what it takes to play in the Premier League. 

The pair took part in drills alongside Leicester City Community Trust’s coaches, just as their team-mates had done each morning in what was becoming a highly beneficial exercise for the local youngsters. 

Finally, as another sun set in Los Angeles, Christian Fuchs, Riyad Mahrez and Demarai Gray were enlisted for a photoshoot on Santa Monica beach with Puma as part of some commercial activity for the Club’s 2016/17 shirts. 

An artist created a stunning sand sculpture of the Premier League trophy as part of the shoot, which was soon destroyed by a diving Fuchs as he was asked to help re-create a scene from Baywatch! 

Meanwhile other members of football and Club staff took some time from their evening schedules to visit the Hollywood Walk of Fame to conclude yet another wonderful day of activity in Los Angeles.
