Training in the Austrian Heat

The Foxes go through the motions in training.

Included were goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel and striker Islam Slimani, while new boy Vicente Iborra trained with his team-mates for the first time.

Austrian native Christian Fuchs told LCFC TV: “You’re meant to feel great when you’re back in your own country, but given the first training session it’s anything but that.

“It’s pretty exhausting, but that’s just what you expect from a pre-season training camp. We worked pretty well and everything was very tough, so it was a good session.

Fuchs: We're Working Well

Christian Fuchs talks through the first training session of the Austria training camp.

“None of us expected it to be really hot here, but it’s much hotter than England. We can cope with it and it won’t be any different when the season starts, so it’s good so far.”

A much cooler evening session consisted of a series of small-sided games, allowing Fuchs and his team-mates to get a feel of the ball.

Christian Fuchs and Shinji Okazaki share a joke during the first training session in Austria.

He added: “We’re getting into games now – all those movements, strides and sprints and that core work is just what you expect from pre-season.

“It’s obviously very necessary for the season. I hope there’s more ball work coming up soon!”
