- Wilfred Ndidi was delighted by the determined display of Leicester City at Newcastle United
- The Nigerian international was named as the Man of the Match at St James' Park on Saturday night

Ndidi was selected by British broadcasters as the Man of the Match at St James’ Park but, speaking to LCFC TV at full-time, the Nigerian international preferred to credit his colleagues.
Ndidi Reflects On Newcastle Success
Midfielder Wilfred Ndidi speaks to LCFC TV following the 3-2 victory at Newcastle United.
“It was a really good game and a really difficult one,” he said. “The team spirit was there, it was not our best game but everyone was focused on fighting for the victory.
“It was what we came here for. It was a difficult but good game. [The early goal] made it really difficult because of where they are in the table, fighting for wins, so it was really difficult for us.
“The first goal really changed so many things but it was good that we came back.”
Mahrez’s 20th minute strike was typical of the 2016 PFA Player of the Year’s quality and Ndidi has been delighted by his form over the past two months for the Foxes.
“Riyad is like that week in week out,” the 20-year-old added. “There is more to come from him I think. Everybody tries to support him and he is in good form.”
On the performance of Gray, he continued: “Everybody is capable of playing, even the guys on the bench. Everybody wants to show themselves and if you have the opportunity, you can show it all.”
