- Maguire started while Vardy was a 63rd minute substitute for Gareth Southgate's men
- Shinji Okazaki featured from the bench on 75 minutes in Japan's 2-2 draw with Senegal

Maguire, 25, who got an assist during the Three Lions' 2-1 win over Tunisia last Monday, played the full 90 minutes as Gareth Southgate's men qualified for the Round of 16.

A John Stones brace, Harry Kane's hat-trick and a wonderful curling effort from Jesse Lingard enabled England to stamp their authority over a physical Panama outfit at Nizhny Novgorod Stadium.

Vardy was a 63rd minute substitute, replacing Kane, as England maintained their 100 per cent record. It is only the third time that England have won their first two games (previously 1982 and 2006).

Vardy added some pace to England's side during the second half.

A 78th minute strike from 37-year-old Felipe Baloy may have been enough to lift Panama's spirits, but it barely dented a record-breaking scoreline for the Three Lions.

It was also the first time that Leicester City has been represented by two England players in a World Cup fixture, continuing the trend of Club record being broken this summer in Russia.

The Group G winners will be decided by a shoot-out between England and Belgium in Kaliningrad on Thursday evening (7pm BST kick-off). Southgate's men are currently top due to their fair play record.

Elsewhere, Japan's Shinji Okazaki earned his 115th cap from the bench as his country twice came from behind to hold Senegal to a 2-2 draw at Ekaterinburg Arena later in the day.

The Japanese, who opened their World Cup campaign with an 2-1 victory over Colombia, fell behind twice to Sadio Mané and Moussa Wagué strikes, with Takashi Inui and Keisuke Honda levelling.

Okazaki has twice come off the bench so far for his country in Russia.

Okazaki was introduced on 75 minutes, with his country trailing 2-1, and played a part in the goal, distracting Senegal goalkeeper Khadim N'Diaye enough for Honda to capitalise in the latter moments.

As a result, Japan are joint-top with Senegal on four points in Group H, ahead of Poland's encounter with Colombia later in the day, both of whom started the second round of fixtures on zero points.
