Bott: We're Disappointed With Ourselves

After a narrow defeat to Tottenham Hotspur last time out, the Foxes arrived to Villa Park with the ambition of gaining three points and looked to be within a shout after a promising start, which saw Sam Tierney have a goal disallowed for offside.

However, Villa's threats became too much for Leicester, who were left pondering missed chances, and defender Bott, who made her first appearance since picking up a slight injury during the last international window, gave an honest reflection to LCFC TV following the proceedings.

"We're completely disappointed," the New Zealander stated. "The scoreline isn't something we take lightly and it's a tough one to swallow. Our first-half performance was okay, we kept possession somewhat well, but we knew we could've taken it up a notch.

"We let them have three easy goals, in our opinion, so it's not good enough and we know we can do better. So now it's on us to work hard, and produce a response."

Looking ahead, the Foxes welcome Reading, another team fighting for survival, to King Power Stadium this Sunday afternoon (3pm BST kick-off), and City's No.4 is aware of the enormity that the fixture could have on the outcome of the WSL table.

"Reading is a must win game for us," the 27-year-old explained. "We'll take our learnings and positives from today, and we know there was a lot that we can't accept from ourselves, so we'll have a good week moving forward to not let a similar thing happen against Reading.

"Overall, the feeling is just disappointment. I can do as much as I can, but if the team doesn't perform then my performance doesn't count for anything. We take the loss, and to be honest my performance is irrelevant at the minute, as it didn't contribute to a win, which is what we wanted."
