Seven Leicester City players still have international fixtures to contest this week before returning for the Premier League double-header against Stoke City and Sunderland.

Jamie Vardy, who scored on Sunday afternoon, Kasper Schmeichel and Andy King have concluded their duties with England, Denmark and Wales respectively but several of their City team-mates still have roles to play for their countries over the coming days.

After making a brief cameo for Japan during the 2-0 success against the United Arab Emirates on Thursday evening, 30-year-old forward Shinji Okazaki could earn his 108th cap when Vahid Halilhodžić's men take on Thailand on Tuesday 28 March.

The Japanese are currently second in their FIFA World Cup qualifying group, level on points with pool leaders Saudi Arabia, after running out as comfortable victors at the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain City. Okazaki is one goal away from his 50th strike for Japan.

Ben Chilwell and Demarai Gray, meanwhile, could be in action again for the England Under-21s on Monday night against Denmark. The young Lions succumbed to a 1-0 defeat Germany in Wiesbaden on Friday night.

On the same day, Ahmed Musa and Wilfred Ndidi are likely to continue in Nigeria’s starting line-up when they take on Burkina Faso in a rerun of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations Final at Barnet’s The Hive Stadium in London.

The Foxes pair both featured for their country during a 1-1 draw with Senegal at the same venue on Thursday night with Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho scoring a late equaliser.

Elsewhere, Daniel Iversen is in line to appear for Denmark Under-20s verses Romania on Monday evening. Bartosz Kapustka may be in action for the Poland Under-21s against the Czech Republic on Monday.
