Benalouane: A Great Chance

City will attempt to set up a fourth round tie with Peterborough United by beating Uwe Rosler’s men at King Power Stadium this week.

While Benalouane knows the Foxes must take each game as it comes, a run in the cup could be highly beneficial, not least if they reach the latter stages.

“It’s a great chance and we want to do this because for everybody, it’s important,” said Benalouane ahead of the game.

“When you win a title like the league, you want to win another trophy. I think this trophy can be important for the team and for me, I want to do something to win this.”

Benalouane believes Leicester’s last outing – a goalless draw at Chelsea – proved just how much Claude Puel’s men have improved as the season has progressed.

He added: “All of the team and the Club was proud. I think we got a good result. At the end, I think we deserved the three points, but one point is good as well.

“I think the team was very strong defensively and we created a lot of chances. It’s not easy to do this at Stamford Bridge.

“Now, I think the team is playing better and it’s important for the future because it’s good to make a good performance like this. We can see our work in our game.

“It’s not easy to create that many chances because if you stay strong defensively, the team stays back, but now we start to play and start to be strong.

“I think if you have the ball, you have more chances to make something. Obviously, now the team is better because we have the ball. This is the first thing. After, we have to be strong and the tactics are important.”
