The Nigerian international’s brace at King Power Stadium against Fleetwood Town set up a trip to Peterborough United, who beat Aston Villa 3-1 in the third round at Villa Park after scoring three times in the final 15 minutes.

Peterborough are currently four points off the Sky Bet League 1 play-off positions and have lost just twice in their previous 11 outings in all competitions.

For Iheanacho, it will be a unique test, but one the Foxes head into in productive form themselves having not conceded in 2018.

“I don’t know too much but I think they’re going to be a great team for them to be in the FA Cup,” Iheanacho said of Saturday’s opponents.

Iheanacho's Peterborough Focus

Kelechi Iheanacho speaks to LCFC TV ahead of Saturday's visit to Peterborough United.

“I think they’re going to play well, but we’re not going to watch them. The manager is going to show us what they’re capable of.

“All we need to do is to do our thing. Go onto the pitch, work hard, play with each other and after 90 minutes, we’ll know what will happen.”

Preparation will be vital for Iheanacho, who says he will study the opposition’s defence thoroughly in order to gain a good understanding of their strengths and weaknesses.

All we need to do is to do our thing. Go onto the pitch, work hard, play with each other and after 90 minutes, we’ll know what will happen.

He said: “Of course, as a striker, you need to look at the defenders and know what you’re going to do and as well the midfielders and goalkeepers.

“You look at everything altogether, but I think in general, your focus needs to be on the defenders so you know how to play against them.

“Of course, they can come out in different ways when you go to play, so I think it’s very important that you look at the defenders and know what you’re coming up against.”
