Puel Targets Collective Performance

The Foxes’ final outing of the campaign takes place at Wembley Stadium against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday (3pm kick-off).

Ahead of the game, Puel stressed the importance of showing desire against Mauricio Pochettino’s men, who secured a top four finish thanks to their 1-0 win over Newcastle United last time out.

He said: “Sometimes we cannot have success or we do not have the good result or reward, but about the performance and desire, we have to put on the pitch our best performance, collectively and individually. All this togetherness.

“After we can develop the play and a lot of things. If the desire is not here it is not possible to see after the quality or the good play we can do. This is important. We will see this I hope in the last game.

“It will be a tough game of course, Tottenham, but I think about just the performance, not the result. We will see if we can make a result. About the performance, of course it will be important.”

Puel knows Pochettino’s side will also want to sign off with a win and will be buoyed by their qualification for next campaign’s UEFA Champions League.

The manager added: “I think Mauricio [Pochettino] plays good football. He has made a good journey in the European Cup and in the championship also.

“I think with his staff and players, they have made strong work with quality in their play. He has a good squad also with good players and a fantastic striker (Harry Kane). He can be the difference in every game.

"I know Wembley last season with the cup final and it was a good memory. I know for Tottenham and for us it will be great to play this game at Wembley.

“It will be the last game for Tottenham and for us it will be an opportunity to play in front of fantastic fans and people, in a fantastic stadium. It is a good opportunity for us to finish strong this Premier League.”
